Available in 4" thru 12" diameter, all pipe types, up to 250 psi
CRJ Contracting Inc. is a certified provider and installer of Hydra-Stop and TEAM insertion valves. Insertion valves provide a means to install a permanent valve with no interruption of pipeline flow. The insertion valve is installed under live pressure and requires no shut down making it an ideal solution for emergency water main break repairs, planned or emergency valve replacement, and many other applications. CRJ maintains an inventory of Hydra-Stop and TEAM insert valves in all pipe diameters ranging from 4" thru 16".

Emergency Insert Valves and Linestops Available 24/7
CRJ Contracting is the leading provider of insert valve and line stop services in New Jersey. Our services provide a safe and effective means of temporarily shutting down or isolating a section of existing water main without disrupting vital service to customers. Our services will help you gain control of your water system, reduce costs and avoid disruption.
Insertion valves provide a means to install a permanent valve with no interruption of pipeline flow. The insertion valve is installed under full line pressure and requires no shut down making it an ideal solution for emergency water main break repairs, planned or emergency valve replacement, and many other applications.
The insertion valve is installed by making a size on size tap in the top of the main, then installing a valve cartridge into the valve body attached to the pipe saddle. The insertion valve permanently remains in place allowing for system control and maintenance in the same manner as a standard resilient seated gate valve.
Insertion valves are the preferred approach when service disruption is not an option.
A line stop is performed while the existing main is under pressure. Line stops can be “single” when flow is in a single direction or “double” for a grid, bi-directional flow situation. The line stops enable “point shut down” of a main with dramatically reduced water loss, service interruption, and damage to infrastructure resulting from water main de-pressurization.
The line stop is accomplished by making a size on size tap, generally in the top of the main, then inserting a rubber plug or stopper into the line. The plug is then pumped in the main using a hydraulic ram (the main is supported by the line stop sleeve) which shuts off the water flow. After performing the necessary service, the stop is removed, and a blind flange is installed on the sleeve.
Line stopping is the preferred approach when the shut-off required is temporary.
